Temps today have not been bad, high 30s low 40s but about 2 this afternoon the wind picked up and was high enough that they closed down the gondola--result was long lift lines, but its been the first time. We are setting watching the news and the wind is blowing as high as 85 MPH in Bolder County which is not far from here. Snow in the forecast for tonight and for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday--look out gang, its going to be great!
Even with the wind the sun was out most of the day, here is Joel showing his skiing style.
These two photos are from Tuesday after the 6 inches Monday night.
No lift lines this morning, we have changed tactics--have been stopping for lunch about noon, tomorrow we plan to ski until 1 or 2 then take a break. We skied 16,000 vertical feet by noon and 23,851 vertical by the time we stopped. From the base to the top of the mountain is 2300 ft change so when you ski all the way back to the base you have skied 2300 vertical feet. On the green runs thats 3.5 miles and on the blue runs about 2 miles. Our legs should be in great shape when we get home.
Think SNOW!
See you guys in 3 days. Need your grocery list if you want me to buy anything before you arrive.
