Day One Albuquerque, NM to Pagosa Springs, CO

We started off this morning in Abq, we had a few hours after Judith, Jana and Murray arrived so we went to Old Town, which is where the first settlers came too in 1489, the area was called "New Spain " at that time. We visited a park near old town that depicted the journey.

Here Jana and Murray stand near a lady and a child on their ass, that's the ass on the right.
Larry attempting to ride the pig, that's Larry with the hat.

A beautiful display when we were not fooling around, there were 60 folks that made the original trip and many folks in NM can trace their roots back to this first party.

Jany, Murray, horse and unknown cowboy.

Jana and her new friend that does not talk back.

Judith and Larry are coned into working with the street musicians & Larry can't even carry a tune. They felt so sorry for screwing up the music they had to buy a CD.

The original mission built in 1500's (remodeled several times) but still an active church with about 300 members.

Then it's on to the commissary to purchase food for 9 for the ski week. Small home loan is in order, naturally Murray and myself helped (they allowed us to push the carts). Didn't get a shot of the truck loaded but it was not a pretty sight, bags, skis and groceries all mixed up together.

Not much snow on the drive up through Santa Fe. Lots of dry looking almost desert.

We announced our arrival in Pagosa springs by running into the lamp post, but nothing was damaged.
Joy upon joy Judith prepares another meal, I really look after this gal, nice trip, great condo with full kitchen and 9 starving folks to feed.
Tomorrow will be a better day, we plan to be on the slopes when the lifts open and ski until they close, maybe some pictures with snow on the next post.
