Steamboat and Winter Carnival-7 Feb

Weather has been beautifukl, decided to ski half day and attend the Winter Carnival, good decision, great crowd and lots of fun. Lots of local families and COWBOYs. Note the ski slopes in the background, the small town is near the slops, in fact there is a ski slope and a 40 meter ski jump just off Main St. There is a large Coldwell Banker in Steanboat, maybe I can get Judith a job here.
Lots of cowboys/girls and horses.

Ventage snow machine pulling skiers.

Snow machine pulling kids on tubes. Kids of all ages.

A 1940's snow machine.

Leif was the founder of the Winter Festival which took over Main Street.

Old Farmall with dual rear wheels--pulling skiers

The Prudential Real Estate float--maybe Jana could transfer here from Dothan--then I could come visit.

Small horses with skiers in tow, every float had skiers in tow.

Old (1970) Gondola thas has been transformed into a carrage, with 2 hourse power.

Pretty hourses with Cowgirls, real cowgirls.

Large sled that would hold 25 grownups or a ton of kids.

1 pony power

Lots of snow sleds with families- greeted by large fake dog.

Working sled with bales of hay for seats.

Steamboat Springs High School Band, note that everyone is on skis.

Flag girls (on skis) lead the parade.

Fun and games before and after the parade, here kids ski behind a running horse for fastest time. Tough kids.

Kids 4-14 were competing.

Dad's race with kids in tow, in Dad's Dash

And of course thwere were hourses.
Another great day of skiing, sunshine and the fun of a parade, what else could you ask for.
