Last Ski Day--Hope you have enjoyed the Blog

Last day, tons of sunshine and about 3 inches of fresh powder, could not have been much better. Pictured here is the top of the gondola, restaurant/ snack bar, coffee is only $2.70 for a small cup, and they think there is a recession.
Lots of great blue runs, and still no lift lines, folks must be waiting for President's Day weekend. Lift tickets go up to $92 a day for the holiday, I may have to start walking up the slope.

There are lots of green runs also, up on the mountain most of the greens are catwalks which are the service roads in the summer.

I was on the mountain about 0830 each morning, seldom was there a crowd. Big mountain with lots of lifts.

The fresh snow dresses the evergreens and with the sunshine the mountain sparkles.

Lots of coffee consumed here, the mountain has only two main restaurants and two warming huts, of course you can ski down to the bottom and there are lots of shops and restaurants.

Last run of the day, it has been a great three weeks, thanks to my wife for allowing me to take off. Hope Tink and George regret not coming, I could have had even more fun if someone had come with me. Maybe next year.

At the Bottom, taking the skis off for the last time.

Statue of Billy the Kid, you can see Kidd on the mountain most days, the Cowboy hat is his trademark.

Now to pack and get the truck ready for the trip, must decide when to leave, winter storm watch tonight and tomorrow, suppose to get about 10 inches of snow--who knows I may get snowed in and have to stay.. I plan to leave early Friday morning and if the weather does not slow me down too much I should be back in Huntsville late Sat afternoon.
Judith and I plan to meet Lennis and Judy Lee in Gatlinburg 22 Feb-check the blog and see what we are doing.
See you.
