2 days until we fly and already a week behind. Tom and Susie Jones will be our travel companions for this 18 day trip to England.
First week we have rented a "Narrow Boat" (6ft 10inches wide, 57 ft long) and will cruise the canals of England and Wales. There are over 2500 miles of canals in England, we will travel about 50/75 miles ( Tom has to stop at most of the local Pubs). Our boat is diesel powered and Tom & I will share the "Captain" duties. I get all the straight runs with no traffic and Tom gets the locks and narrow parts. Susie and Judith will add a bit of class. The boat has all the required items plus 2 bathrooms and a shower, sleeps 6 ( if you are really short) More about the boat when we start crusing>
Second week we will travel Western Middle England and Wales. May temps are in the low to mid 60"s and the nights are high 40s' to mid 50s' ( We have packed our long johns. We have a rental car but may not drive much, gas is 5 pounds+ a gallon ( about $10, and we thought gas was high in the U.S.)
We will be stayin ---somewhere, the girls thought the trip would be more exciting if we made no reservations until we arrived. 
Skinny Dicks, Half Way Inn is our low end standard, if we stay in places worse we won't tell anyone. It should be great fun, wish you were all going with us (NOT). More later. Larry
